"Opallios - Works by Elizabeth Taber" Opens February 11

We're so excited to present Opallios - Works by Elizabeth Taber in the Eric Fischl beginning February 11.

Opallios features the work of artist Elizabeth Taber. Taber explains that Opallios is the ancient Greek word that translates to "precious gemstone." The name Opal was derived from this word. Opal is a gemstone that you can see a rainbow in as you move the stone in the sun, you can quite literally see the change of color.

As Taber witnesses the climate changes taking place before her eyes, she observes, abstracts, and documents these changes. Through her recent experience with mapping the sea floor, she has seen these changes in color. In this exhibition, Taber invites the viewer to see this change through the lens of her travel, scientific pursuits, and studio investigations

The exhibit runs from February 11 through March 7 and there will be an opening reception on February 15, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm
