Recently, Phoenix College Fashion Design students participated in a Chick-Fil-A Fashion Show. The contest was open to all current Phoenix College Fashion Design Students. The task was to create an outfit for Chick-fil-A's little-girl cow, "Kid Cow." Student Designers worked with measurements provided to create some truly sensational outfits. Some of the students were able to utilize fabrics for their designs that had been donated to the Phoenix College Fashion Design Program. Students could design and make any style or outfit but were required to include two Chick-fil-A labels on their outfit.

After that, it was time to show off their hard work. Below is a list of all of the entrants and their placing.

  • Grand Prize -- Maland Knoun -- red knit "newsboy-style" hat, black corduroy shorts with suspenders, accented with white pockets, & a blue, sleeveless front-buttoned blouse

  • 1st Runner-up -- Yan Li -- party dress with a burgundy velour bodice trimmed with purple sequin lettering, and a full, sheer skirt in purple with silver star-bursts & bows in back

  • 2nd Runner-up -- Iriss Pacheco -- poodle-style skirt in aqua-blue poly-cotton with a yellow, baby chicken applique, paired with a brown corduroy pullover top

  • 3rd Runner-up -- Anna Bain -- red polyester-blend sleeveless dress with a V-neck, accented with a center-bodice denim pocket

Chick-Fil-A’s team were thrilled! They not only wanted to keep all the entries, but they expanded their prize awards as well. They also mentioned wanting to hold another design contest with Phoenix College Fashion Design Students next year! If you missed out, no worries. Kid Cow will return to campus to model off these outfits at the annual Spring Fashion Show, on Friday, May 3, 2019.
